The Tough Tech problem we are solving
The drive to recycle a larger percentage of waste plastics has met with 3 major obstacles:
1) Cost of achieving Scale: In plastics, most molecular recycling technologies face high capital investment costs to reach scale because they seek to sidestep the oil refining industry. We leverage the know-how and economies of scale of the oil refining industry to process our circular crude into finished petchem feedstocks for plastic production.
2) Unit Economics: Most technologies rely on monetising their environmental "premium" to achieve breakeven. Our unit economics produce circular oil at a significantly lower cost than the international price of traditional crude oil (5-year average).
3) Feestock Diet: Most technologies either cannibalize the mechanical recycling industry or rely on costly sorting methods to make a commercially viable output. We are able to process actual end-of-life plastic without complex sorting or separation - the type of plastic that has been rejected by mechanical and other types of recycling, and that it costs money to get rid of.
About our solution
Our technology offers a solution to plastic-waste proliferation in the environment, while offering the raw material to produce high-grade virgin plastics in scale, with a dramatically reduced carbon footprint
