Harness the power of wastewater intelligence.

The Tough Tech problem we are solving

Pathogens and substances circulating in a community turn up in wastewater long before they surface in official health reports or hospital data. By the time a health system confirms a trend through clinical channels, the exposure has already happened. That gap, between what is present in a population and what shows up in the reporting system, is the space Biobot Analytics works in.

About our solution

Biobot Analytics turns wastewater samples into a public health signal, tracking more than 50 pathogens and substances, from respiratory and gastrointestinal illness to arboviruses (viruses spread by mosquitoes and other arthropods), at county-level resolution across hundreds of communities. The data stays at the community level, with no household- or individual-level identification. In early 2020, the company recorded the first detection of SARS-CoV-2 in U.S. wastewater, and its data now informs the CDC, NIH, vaccine manufacturers, hospital systems, and pharmaceutical companies forecasting disease activity.
