The Tough Tech problem we are solving
AI was built for the cloud, and autonomy was built for cars. Physical AI systems such as autonomous drones must process sensor data in real time under strict limits on power, weight, and latency. Today's general-purpose AI hardware is often too power-hungry and inefficient for these edge applications, forcing difficult tradeoffs between onboard intelligence, flight time, and responsiveness.
About our solution
ACORN addresses this challenge by building an ultra-efficient computing platform for Physical AI, powered by custom neuromorphic silicon. Modeled on the way the brain processes information, its event-driven chips run spiking neural networks on a near-memory architecture, enabling low-power, low-latency perception and decision-making directly on the device, with no cloud dependency. ACORN is starting with autonomous drones, developing a lightweight, plug-and-play module and SDK where every gain in compute efficiency translates into longer flight time, faster response, and greater autonomy.
